Some australians enjoy a hot meat pie floating upside down in a bowl of mushy green peas with tomato sauce on top. The pie floater has been famous since the early 1920s. It is similar to the dish ‘Mushy Peas’ that is popular in the North East of England with the addition of the meat pie. One of the most famous outlets for the Pie Floater is ‘Harry’s Cafe De Wheels’ at Garden Island in Woloomooloo, Sydney. ‘Harry’s’ is the late night haunt and favourite hangout of dozens of international celebrities and rock stars.
